Junior Performance Shell with Dual Core

This technology has trickled down from the adult boots and is a significant feature in a junior model.

• How it Works: Lange injects two different densities of plastic (harder and softer Polyolefin) into the mold simultaneously.

• Benefit for Kids: This creates a boot that has a smooth, consistent flex that is easy for a lighter-weight skier to engage. It helps them learn to bend their ankles and pressure the front of the boot correctly. The softer plastic also makes the boot much easier for kids (or parents) to get on and off.

Junior-Specific Cuff

This is arguably the most important feature of any good junior boot.

The cuff (the upper part of the boot) is significantly shorter than an adult cuff. This is designed to match the anatomy of a child's leg, where calf muscles are lower and have a different shape. An adult-height cuff would be uncomfortable and would force the child into an incorrect, "backseat" stance. The junior cuff promotes a natural, balanced, and athletic position over the skis, which is crucial for learning.

Replaceable Soles

A practical feature that speaks to the boot's performance focus and longevity.

The toe and heel pieces on the bottom of the boot are screwed on, not molded into the shell. Kids often walk on pavement, which wears down the soles. Worn soles can create a dangerous and ineffective connection with the binding. Being able to replace them means the boot remains safe and functional for longer, making it a better investment.

Junior Liner

Comfort is key to keeping kids happy on the mountain.

The liner is anatomically shaped for a child's foot and uses padding designed for both warmth and performance. It provides a snug, comfortable fit that keeps the heel locked down for better control while ensuring the toes stay warm. A good fit prevents the foot from sliding around, which is the primary cause of discomfort and loss of control for young skiers.

Four Aluminum Buckles

Unlike many softer junior boots that use only 2 or 3 plastic buckles, the RSJ 65 features a full, robust closure system.

Four durable, micro-adjustable aluminum buckles allow for a precise and secure wrap around the entire foot and leg. This level of adjustability allows the fit to be fine-tuned, providing the support needed for more aggressive skiing. It mimics the performance of an adult boot, teaching the young skier how a proper boot should feel and function.
