Countless hours have been spent on the skin track, with a substantial number of summits and ridgelines conquered, accompanied by an abundance of powder turns. This culmination leads to the creation of the K2 Freeloader, meticulously designed to ascend more swiftly, descend with heightened precision, and venture deeper into the backcountry than any other splitboard in K2's history.

The K2 Freeloader Splitboard package adopts the same unisex outline as the Marauder Split. The tail of the Freeloader features a slight taper to facilitate sinking in deep snow, while the broader nose remains buoyant above the surface, effortlessly navigating through choppy snow. Prioritizing a blend of lightweight construction and energetic performance, the Freeloader introduces the Paulownia TourLite core—a remarkably lightweight core wrapped in triaxial braided fiberglass incorporating ICG™️ 20 technology. This technology incorporates 20 tip-to-tail carbon fiber stringers into the fiberglass, enhancing the board's pop without compromising on weight, providing optimal performance for edging, traversing, and snappy descents on firm slopes. The top sheet technology, Snophobic™️, minimizes snow accumulation during climbs, ensuring swift and efficient movement. The reduced weight translates to extended tours and more laps.

To enhance the splitboard's functionality, Karakoram Ultra Clips are integrated into the tip and tail, allowing the split skis to be compressed tightly and reducing the force required for opening and closing. The UltraClip™ fully secures the seam of the splitboard, eliminating issues like rattling, shearing, and rolling seams, resulting in a more solid snowboard-like feel. The Freeloader is completed with the inclusion of the Carbon Infused 5500 Sintered Base—a supremely hard and fast-gliding base in K2's collection. This material retains wax longer than traditional sintered bases, and the black base surface facilitates seamless repairs.
