Faction's La Machine Grom is made to be the perfect starting point for young skiers looking to venture off the resort and find some deep snow. Featuring an ultra-light carbon-loaded design so you stay energized all day. To really enhance the fun these skis have a progressive, ultra-rockered shape that allows for a catch-free ride so you can spend more time on your feet having fun. The Faction La Machine Grom are all about making sure little shredders are having the most fun exploring new territory instead of on their butts. 

Construction & Technology

• Lightweight Paulownia Core
  • Paulownia is an ultra-lightweight wood core with excellent strength, offering great flex and vibration absorption without bulk. Perfect for touring skis, Paulownia excels both uphill and downhill. Paulownia shares nearly identical properties with Karuba, differing only by their growing regions.
• Full Carbon Layers
  • Two full-length sheets of carbon fiber sandwich the wood core, for a lightweight, yet responsive and torsionally rigid ski. Transform your skiing on the uphill and downhill, with minimal weight penalty.
• Recycled Materials
  • Faction works closely with production partners to eliminate material waste. They mix base, sidewall and topsheet material scraps back into the raw material used for production, reducing carbon emissions and maintaining the same level of quality & durability.
• Full Strength Sidewall
  • Experience superior edge hold and stability with the XL Full Strength sidewall. This construction adds protective strips along the core, shielding the woodcore, edges, and topsheet from impact and damage. 
• Elliptical Sidecut
  • The Elliptical Sidecut features a longer radius underfoot for quicker, easier pivots, and shorter radius in the tip and tail for effortless turn initiation. This innovative sidecut supports a wide range of turn lengths, angles, and mounting positions, enhancing your skiing versatility and control.
• Anti-chip Microcap
  • The Anti-chip Micro Cap protects the ski's tips and tails from wear and tear. Where the ski's topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, this delicate area is shielded by the Micro Cap. This protects from chipping and additional sidewall damage, each day you set out on the mountain.
• Moustache Flex
  • The 'Moustache Flex' pattern is ideal for most skiers. It offers stability in front of and behind the binding for solid edge hold, with a smooth, progressive flex in the tips and tails to absorb bumps and snow debris. Perfect for progression and easier turn initiation and finish.

Profile & Shape

• Extended Tip & Tail Rocker
  • Faction employ's Extended Rocker, a reverse camber shape in the tip and tails, which along with waist width, is the most important element in providing float in fresh snow. Extended rocker also makes pivoting and turn initiation easier and means you have less chance of catching an edge.
